The Women of Polytechnique

COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS – Please join us November 16 and November 30, 2019.

On December 6, 1989, the tragedy of the École Polytechnique de Montréal profoundly marked women in Quebec and around the world. 14 women were killed because they had chosen to occupy a space traditionally designated for men. The events “Une marche, deux parcours. À la mémoire des femmes de Polytechnique” seek to commemorate these women while also celebrating the contributions of other women, in building and forming the city we live in.

The event will unfold over two Saturdays: November 16 and November 30, 2019, taking the form of guided walks through the city, accompanied by presentations and performances. Please note that the final stop for November 16 walk will be EV Junction in Concordia’s EV Building, at 5:15 pm, and will include a performance by Womxn Walk the Walk Collective.
