Research Tutorial

The research tutorial is an individually-tailored program of study, directed by the student’s doctoral supervisor. Its purpose is to enable students to refine their thesis topics, to develop the theoretical and methodological framework for their study, and to elaborate a plan of research. Typically undertaken after the coursework is finished, the tutorial prepares students to undertake their comprehensive examinations and to write their thesis proposals. At some universities, the thesis proposal is configured as part of the research tutorial.
