Witnessing Memory: Activer l’image photographique

October 7, 2019 By admin

SYMPOSIUM – Session #2 of Hypotheses Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 5:30 pm in the Lounge of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, J.-N. Desmarais Pavilion, Level 2, 1380 Sherbrooke Street West.

Philippe Depairon (Maîtrise, UdeM)
Matérialité et mémoire. La pratique de Kazuma Obara en régime post-photographique

Marco Meneghin (PhD, Concordia)
Beyond the Picture: Film and the Remediation of the Colonial Anthropological Archive in Embrace of the Serpent and Damiana Kryygi.

The discussion will be chaired by Vincent Lavoie (Professor, UQAM) and will be followed by a cocktail reception where conversation can continue in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Hypotheses seeks to foster debates across institutional boundaries, to provide a platform for discussion and reflection, and to encourage cross-fertilization of ideas between academia, the museum community, and the general public.
