Background: The Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Studies in Canadian Art has embarked on a series of online guides intended to provide useful information to anyone interested in the rich resources available for teachers and students of Canadian art history, art education, curatorial studies, and material culture. Guide to Studying the Visual Arts in Canada is the first in the series. Drawing on contributions from teachers and librarians from across Canada, this compendium is co-edited by Shannon Stride (MA, Art History, Concordia University) and Loren Lerner (Professor Emerita, Department of Art History, Distinguished Fellow of the Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Canadian Art, and first Fine Arts Librarian, Concordia University).
