Concordia Library presents:
Journey Through the Stacks: Illustrated Travelogues and the Orientalist Imagination
. An exhibition curated by Stéphanie Hornstein, Concordia Library’s Researcher-in-Residence Featuring historic material from Concordia, McGill, and the Université de Montréal’s library collections, this exhibition explores the impact of halftone printing technology on the production of travelogues that describe the so-called Orient. The historic books on display show how photography was employed at the turn of the 20th century to confirm a Western view of Asia and the Middle East as exotic destinations.

The exhibition runs until March 22nd and is on display in the Webster Library vitrines on the second floor of the LB building. More information can be found on Concordia’s website.
