Talk title: Ancestral Memories are Our Future

Hired by the São Paulo Art Museum in 2019, Sandra Benites Guarani Nhandewa is the first Indigenous woman to hold a position of assistant curator in a major Brazilian museum. An educator at the primary and secondary levels, Benites holds a master’s degree in Social Anthropology from the National Museum (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). She is currently a doctoral student at the same institution.
